George Anderson Inducted into the Nurserymen’s Hall of Fame

George Anderson, founder of Anderson Die & Manufacturing Co. (makers of Anderson Pots), was inducted into the Nurserymen’s Hall of Fame on February 29th at a ceremony and dinner held at the Abernethy Center, Oregon City.

Also honored in the 2024 Hall of Fame class were:

            J. Frank Schmidt, Sr. of the J. Frank Schmidt Nursery

            Irene and Ray Burden of Hazel Dell Gardens

            Rod Park and Joy Guidry of Park’s Nursery

            Doug and Jamie Zielinski of Alpha Nursery

The Oregon Association of Nurseries’ Hall of Fame was established in 1991 to honor individuals who have brought credit and recognition to Oregon’s nursery industry or who have made a profound historical impact on the industry.

Rick Anderson, George’s son and chairman of the board of Anderson’s, accepted the Hall of Fame award on George’s behalf. George’s portrait and biography will be permanently displayed in the J. Frank Schmidt, Jr. Pavilion of the Oregon Garden in Silverton.
